The ground floor of Hotel Columba was once home to a historically famous café: Caffè Michelangelo. This iconic city meeting place was a regular haunt of several of the most famous 19^th-century Florentine painters: the so-called Macchiaioli.

Caffè Michelangelo may no longer be here but Via Cavour still exudes the vitality and passion of those times.
